Shanghai Home Design Week, as a major peripheral event during China International Furniture Expo (Furniture China), happens concurrently with Furniture China in each September. By coinciding with Furniture China, Maison Shanghai, and Design of Designers, Shanghai Home Design Week works with many art galleries, joint office facilities, cafes, manual workshops, furniture & life plaza and over 50 design activities.
The 23rd China International Furniture Expo (better known as Furniture China 2017) and its current event the 2nd Maison Shanghai successfully concluded on 15 September in Pudong, Shanghai. The four-day exhibition presented thousands of excellent furniture products and home decorations from around 3,500 exhibitors, receiving a series of positive results in terms of visitor engagement, exhibitor satisfaction and customer experience. According to the post-show statistics, visitor entry counting from all gates break 151,588 in total during the whole exhibition period, the two fairs together hosting buyers and visitors from 155 countries and regions, who are mainly from South Korea, Australia, the United States, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada and etc. General engagement of visitor on-site attendance is very much satisfactory with 26.3% increase versus last year.
Nearly hundreds of home stores, design parks, art boutiques, manual workshops, joint office facilities and other commercial properties in the field of home and furniture joined us, it has gradually become a design event for the entire city of Shanghai.
This year, the invited designer stars created 10 exclusive interior showcases, splendid and colorful, stick to the theme as "Designers' Glowing Life".

It was the 2nd year for 'Modern Chinese Style' project. As the theme goes to 'Craft & Scene', 11 design masters joined the project this year, together with over 40 excellent domestic furniture brands participating. The whole exhibition area created a leisurely comfortable space in the conception of inkpainting embellished with images of mountain, bamboo, stream and poetry. Visitors could experience the Modern Chinese Style through vision, hearing, touch, feeling, and even illusion upon presence.
In the name of 'Design of Colors', the purposeful forum 'China Home Design Conference' has achieved great success this year. The chief curators and designers of Home Plus shared with the audience about the main ideas and inspiration of their own showcase space. Moreover, Stefan Diez, the young Germany designer gave a wonderful speech on the industrial design. The French designer-colorist Jean-Philippe Lenclos shared his experience on his research of colors.
We created a number of activities such as exclusive discounts, free gifts, parties, DIY workshop classes, designer tours, etc. during Shanghai Home Design Week, which enrich the content of this event and clearly improving the visitor experience.
Two days' Design Bus took nearly hundreds of designers and publics to visit Shanghai Wending Living Style Plaza, artistic installation designed by the Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, WE+LAB joint office and JOY CITY shopping mall in Shanghai.
The Handcraft Year of China is back for its second year, focusing on China's craftsmanship and giving China's craftsmanship renewed vigor. Manifesting contemporary life aesthetics and creation wisdom of the Chinese were presented from 1941 pieces of handwork, 200 experience courses and 30 craftsman.
